What services cannot be provided via Telehealth Platform?

  • Referrals for Medicare-rebated CT, MRI scans
  • Centrelink medical certificates
  • Medical certificates via telehealth for periods longer than 3 days
  • Back-date medical certificates
  • Care Plans (Mental health or Chronic condition management)

Following medication scripts cannot be issued via our Telehealth platform:

  • Sedatives (like Diazepam, Alprazolam, Temazepam etc.)
  • Strong pain medications (like Morphine, Oxycodone, Tramadol etc.)
  • ADHD medications (like Methylphenidate, Dexamphetamine etc.)
  • Other controlled substances

Telehealth appointment pricing/billing and Medicare eligibility

What is the cost for Telehealth appointments?
Wellness Telehealth appointment fee schedule:
Regular Telehealth Consult (Up to 15mins) – $42.99 + any applicable transaction fee
Extended Telehealth Consult (Up to 30mins) – $79.99 + any applicable transaction fee

Medicare rebates available

  • Regular Telehealth Consult (up to 15mins)
    Up to $27.05 Medicare rebate available for eligible patients.
    ($15.94 out of pocket cost if eligible for Medicare rebate).
  • Extended Telehealth Consult (up to 30mins)
    Up to $51.25 Medicare rebate available for eligible patients.
    ($28.74 out of pocket costs if eligible for Medicare rebate)

Please note:
No Medicare claiming services are provided by this practice. Patients are responsible for determining their own eligibility for any Medicare rebate. You can claim Medicare benefits online with the provided service invoice/receipt.

How to Claim Medicare benefits online

  • Claim Medicare benefits online via the Medicare online account
  • If your Medicare online account is linked to myGov account, sign in now and select Make a claim.
  • If you don’t have a myGov account or a Medicare online account, you’ll need to create them.

Medicare rebate eligibility criteria list

Medicare rebates for Telehealth appointments with Wellness Telehealth

A valid Medicare Card is required if you wish to receive any Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) rebate or subsidy pending eligibility.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Have had at least one face-to-face appointment with a Wellness Nurse Practitioner within the past 12 months. 
  • Child under the age of 12 months.  
  • Are homeless.  
  • Patients of NPs at an Aboriginal Medical Service or an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.
  • People isolating because of a COVID-related State or Territory public health order, or in COVID-19 quarantine because of a State or Territory public health order.  
  • People affected by natural disaster, defined as living in a local government area declared a natural disaster by a State or Territory government.  
  • Patients for Blood Borne Virus and Sexual or Reproductive Health (BBVSRH) consultations (excluding assisted reproductive technology or antenatal care)

How to cancel Telehealth appointments

  • Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email to your registered email address. In that confirmation email, you’ll find option under your booking details to “Cancel Appointment”, simply click on this button if you need to cancel or reschedule.
  • If you do not receive an email, please ensure you check your junk/spam folder and the email you used to register. For cancellation rules and fees, please see Cancellation Policy below.

Cancellation Policy

  • Appointments can be either cancelled or rescheduled up to 4 hours prior to your appointment time.
  • Late cancellations made less than 4 hours before the appointment will incur the full service fee.
  • If your appointment is not cancelled as per the above, and you fail to show for your scheduled appointment time, full service fee will be applied.
